THE PULSE CONTINUES!

pulse
Our spring 2009 project "Scenes From the Hudson" had a great run last year with performances at Barbes in February, Roulette in March and the Hudson Opera House in May.

In addition to contributing a piece to the program (my piece features me on guitar and our guest collaborator Joy Askew on voice) I was able to play on three other pieces too plus a duet with Joy on one of her own tunes.

Our 2010 collaboration with Take Dance is shaping up. Premiere performance dates are October 14 & 15 2010 at Judson Memorial Church:
55 Washington Square South
New York, NY 10012
phone: 212-477-0351

The theme of all our pieces is "Distance to the Moon" - my choreographer Jill Echo and I have come up a fun take on the concept, can't give it away though!

The pulse composers met at the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop in New York City. However, their goal for pulse was to create and perform music with a more expansive vision.

Collectively, the seven composers of pulse have been honored by BMI, ASCAP, SOCAN, the National Endowment of the Arts, the International Association for Jazz Education, Down Beat magazine, Meet the Composer, and the American Composers Forum.

Their music has been performed at concert halls, music clubs, universities, and conservatories by orchestras and ensembles throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

pulse continues to be truly dedicated to providing a limitless outlet for the very creative minds of the composers and those who wish to work with us.
